Vintage hammered solid copper kettle or cauldron with brass seams, finger joints and a brass swing handle. Its unique shape suggests it could be French. These vintage copper pots would have been used for boiling water or cooking and would have hung over an open fire.
This is a nice piece - solid and heavy. The sides and base have brass seam finishes along with a rolled lip rim. There is also nice line detail near the top. The brass swing handle is well attached on both sides with copper rivets. The letters "A K S A" are embossed in the handle. It's in very nice condition - it looks better in person than in the pictures.
It would look beautiful with a plant, florals, or to hold some kindling on the hearth. Perfect in a farmhouse or French country home. It's very pretty and could stand alone as a statement piece or to add to a copper collection.
