Lovely vintage low cloisonne bowl. Decorative bowl with a blue background overlayed with white blossoms both outside and in. The brass top edge is surrounded with a green and soft red edging. Cloisonne is a handmade, meticulous and ancient art form of enamel over copper or brass. Because of this exacting process, every cloisonne piece is a unique work of art. The bottom of the bowl is a turquoise green enamel, typical of most cloisonne.
The bowl is in very good condition with some light wear. There is some small whitening towards the bottom of one section and we don't know whether it is part of the pattern or a small defect (see photo).
Use this pretty bowl for a small bonsai or on top of a stack of books or just as a pretty statement piece.
