Vintage, very large, very unique, iron wall mounted bell – sometimes called a monastery bell. It has a lovely ornate, curvy backplate which sits away from the wall with two bars that hold it out so there is room for the bell to ring. The bell is attached to a rod with a flower in front and is rung by pulling the chain downward and it moves the bell front to back. The bell has a nice loud ring.
This lovely piece is in very good vintage condition with a black finish and a brass bell. There is some wear as might be expected of vintage iron but all the joints are tight and the piece is sturdy. The flower finial in front which holds the bell portion has some of the finish rubbed off which seems to reveal some brass underneath. It can be mounted on the wall inside or outside.
A beautiful addition to any home, porch or deck décor. It’s sure to be rung by any guest or child who will be curious to hear how it sounds.
