This is a classic vintage solid brass trivet from Virginia Metalcrafters. It has a very traditional look and is a heavy, sturdy and functional piece of history for your table. It has four feet covered with rubber tips that will protect your tabletop from hot foods. The trivet has a scrolled design and a polished surface with some wear due to use and age. It still shows nicely however.
The underside has the typical Virginia Metalcrafters hallmark and reads “Thomas Jefferson Cipher - Monticello - 1-15 Copyright 1951”. It’s a very charming piece and would look lovely on any dinner table. It could even be hung up as interesting wall art.
