Lovely pair of vintage brass sea serpent candle holders – they are often called dolphins but we really do not see any resemblance. They are heavy and have lots of detail in the form of fish scales and a feathery tail and animated face. They are marked solid brass USA on the underneath of one and the other has a felt round marked Ethan Allen. They are unique and would lend themselves nicely to a traditional home or to a coastal or beach house. A nice bit of whimsey.
They are in good condition with all parts tight and they sit with no wobble. The brass does show some signs of wear but they still show very nicely. We have left them as found and have not tried to polish them.
