Very pretty vintage cloisonne bell with a lovely scalloped pattern. Cloisonne is an ancient and beautiful metalworking technique that fills small metal strips with colored enamels. The bell is brass at the top with a brass ring for hanging. The remainder is in rich hues of blues, muted reds, whites and golds. The inside is the traditional blue of cloisonne – it’s a very charming and interesting piece.
The clapper is a gold ball that hangs from a chain. It is fully intact and has a nice clear ring. The bell could be a Christmas ornament or just stand alone on a shelf or tabletop as it is a lovely work of art and craftmanship.
The bell measures 3 1/4 inches tall by 3 inches wide.
