A beautiful antique or vintage condiment set featuring cut crystal or glass bottles housed in an elegant silver-plated frame. Pieces like this were designed for the dining table to hold oil, vinegar, mustard, or other condiments, adding a refined touch to meals. This heavy (over 6 pounds) and sturdy set has six bottles - four of the taller bottles have silver plated caps, one has a glass stopper. The smallest bottle has a silver hinged lid with a spoon. The spoon reads "M & B Silver Co."
The silver caddy has a graceful square carrying handle, sits on four decorative feet and the bottom plate has a very pretty fan-shaped leaf design around the outer edges. There are six diamond shaped holders for the bottles, all of which are well attached and in good condition. The underside of the caddy has hallmarks which seem to be typical of English silver.
This set is in very nice condition although we cannot be sure it is a complete matching set as two of the patterns on the bottles are slightly different than the other four. The silver has some wear, tarnish and two of the caps have some oxidation, but it's still a lovely set that shows beautifully. We have not detected any chips or cracks.
