Lovely antique Art Nouveau solid bronze two-handled dish features a maiden surrounded by iris flowers, with a flying owl and moon in the background. The addition of an owl with outstretched wings flying over the moon depicts the connection between the maiden and the natural world. The raised relief, flowing lines and naturalistic forms are characteristic of the Art Nouveau movement. It is marked "Steller" on the front just above the owl's wing.
