Very attractive vintage storage or hat box made of wood and leather. This is a sturdy, large oval box with a hinged lid and clasp closure. In addition to the clasp, the straps snap in place to keep it secure. There is a ribbon attaching the top to the base so the lid does not flop back. There is lovely detail with grommets all around and leather handle and straps. It’s a very unique piece, maybe a gentlemen’s hatbox? It could be used as interesting storage, a hat box or just as a conversation piece.
It's in good condition with wear as might be expected of a vintage item. There is one small chip on the bottom band but it does not affect the looks or functionality.
